As an Edexcel IGCSE Maths tutor, I offer private tuition to Year 9, Year 10 and Year 11 students who need more personalised support as they prepare for the Edexcel IGCSE Maths Specification A (4MA1) exam, though places are limited and offered on a selective basis.

The hourly rate for 1-to-1 online tuition is HKD 1,100

Small Group Online Tuition (2 - 4 students)

A great choice for students who enjoy learning alongside peers in a supportive, focused setting. Each lesson is designed around the group’s needs and includes:

  • Flexible lesson content based on the group's requests

  • Targeted exam practice based on the group's chosen topics

  • WhatsApp support between lessons to provide assistance and ensure no student feels stuck

Pricing

The hourly rate for:

  • 1-to-2 online tuition is HKD 600

  • 1-to-3 online tuition is HKD 500

  • 1-to-4 online tuition is HKD 400

Important Note for Parents

To ensure that the small group online tuition is as effective as possible, each group should consist of students of similar ability levels and from the same maths class at school. This requirement ensures that all students progress at a similar pace and maximises the overall benefit of the lesson.​

What Equipment is Needed for an Effective Online Lesson

To get the most out of online tuition, it is essential that students have the right setup. The following equipment ensures lessons run smoothly and that students can participate fully:

1. A tablet with a stylus

​​

  • Allows students to write out full algebraic working clearly, just as they would on paper

  • Makes it easy to draw graphs and diagrams accurately during lessons

  • Allows students to solve multi-step problems naturally, which is important in exams

​​

2. Headphones with a built-in microphone

​

  • Ensures clear communication between tutor and student, reducing background noise and distractions

  • Allows students to ask questions and explain their reasoning without interruption

​

3. A reliable broadband or fibre connection

​

  • Prevents disruptions so lessons can run smoothly without lag or disconnections

  • Allows for instant and seamless screen sharing, keeping students fully engaged from start to finish

​

With the right set up, online lessons can be just as effective as face-to-face teaching, and in my experience, often even more productive.

Arranging Private Tuition with Me

The process for arranging private tuition with me is simple:

​

Step 1: Complete the Google Form

Fill in the Google Form with your child's details. Regarding scheduling, it will be different depending on the type of tuition chosen:

​

  • For 1-to-1 online tuition, you will need to nominate a regular timeslot that suits your child's schedule.

  • For small group online tuition, families should consult with one another and agree on the same timeslot. The available timeslots can be viewed here.

Step 2: Receive a Response

I will review the information and get in touch directly with you to answer any questions and confirm whether I am the right fit for your child's needs.

Step 4: Arrange a Paid Trial Lesson

A trial online lesson will be scheduled at a convenient time, giving your child the chance to experience my teaching style and decide if I am the right fit before continuing further.

Step 5: Payment

If the trial online lesson goes well, an invoice will be issued to your email address or WhatsApp. Full payment of the tuition fees for one month is required before the first scheduled lesson (as given by the due date in the respective invoice). This advance payment guarantees that your child's timeslot is reserved.
